GREECE's INNER WORLD by STRATIS VOGIATZIS

These interiors are in one of my most favourite styles - bold rustic, simple but rich in textures and genuine colors! Photographer Stratis Vogiatzis’ book “Inner World” (published in July, 2009) include 54 images of inner spaces at the villages of Chios, part of the Greek islands, and beautifully represents "the inner world of the homes whose decoration reflects the pain and loss as well as the inspiration of life".

Below, there are more very exceptional visuals with a background music and even a little interview with the photographer, in the second one; though it is in Greek but this amazing on-line 'voyage' is really worth watching, hope you will enjoy it too!

ONE RIVER DIFFERENT WEATHER

Yehhaaw, we did it! I mean our kitchen renovation is almost over, only just some make-up works left, but the fundamental part is already done! Thank you, my friends, for your well wishings on this occasion, they have surely found their way to us;)
So, now it's time to relax! And I'd like to take you on a peaceful walk along the riverside... We came across this picturesque place last summer and I've thought it may be interesting displaying it here and see how one and the same place changes its look in different weather and under different light... The 3rd photo is slightly edited with Photoshop just to add a tiny canvas texture on the water and a bit of color warming.
Hope you'd enjoy the walk... :)

Let's bath in the sky!

MONDAY HALLO!

Hiii, it's me... anybody round here? :) ... I know I've been slacking off here and with a few other on-line activities that I run, but I have a valid reason for this - as that's about a week since we are into a daily renovation of our kitchen!
It has all started rather spontaneously when we decided to refresh the old window sashes painting them white. But once the process got under way, it has occasionally brought in its train millions of other things to be done and we continued with decorating the walls, buying new curtains, new chairs... and who knows what other architectural and designing flashes of inspiration will visit us?! Slightly tired but we make it all going easy and fun and eager to see the result, which we hopefully foresee by the end of this week!

But meanwhile the kitchen is under reconstruction - no artful cooking these days!:( Because of the paint cans and tiles of smudged newspapers scattered around the floor, plus an awkward access to the stove and other working spaces, our daily meal consists of anything that is easy and fast to prepare.
Since now I'm favourably given some precious 30 min for blogging but which is fairly not enough for making any significant post worth reading or watching, I decided to break my own rule and post not made by me but a scanned picture of a yummi Finnish snack from our favourite Finnish magazine KOTI JA KEITTIÖ /Home and Kitchen/.
Every time we are in Helsinki (and it counts 8 or 9 times by now) we buy all available issues that we missed since our last trip to Finland. And though we don't understand Finnish but the magazine is fantastic, full of beautiful interiors and delicious recipes!

Well, let's get to the very recipe and I hope you'll find it worth trying. It sounds very yummy, healthy and nutritious and I think to make it today for a little picnic on the grass...

TATTIBRUSCHETAT (slightly adapted after google translation)

Ingredients:

white bread or baguette, sliced
mozzarella
fresh mushrooms (champignons or other)
oil or butter
chives, chopped
a few small garlic cloves
some fresh marjoram
salt, to taste
black pepper, to taste

Method:

1. Chop and fry mushrooms with a tiny pinch of salt, until the liquid has evaporated and they become a bit crispy.
2. Chop and mix together the chives and crashed garlic cloves.
3. Toast the bread with a thin slice of butter  and mozzarella (or make it oil frying) until they get a little color and the cheese melts
4. Mix together chives, garlic and mushrooms and lay the mixture onto the warm slices of bread, powder with black pepper and decorate with fresh marjoram.

As a variant, you may substitute mozzarella  for any other kind of cheese that you like and basil may fit good instead of marjoram too...

I'll be back soon to regular posting as I have many interesting and beautiful things to share with you ;)
Have a lovely Monday, see ya !

FROM OUR GARDEN WITH LOVE

Hurrah! Yesterday evening I completed a greater part of my project and now the rest can be done in a more relaxed pace. The Sun seems to have finally settled a home in our sky and we are going to squeeze the maximum from such a favorable weather!
Yet for those of you who  is not able somehow to recharge yourself with a solar energy this weekend, here's a bunch of sunny daffodils from our garden to shine on you through the screen!

One more thing - lately at Etsy, while browsing through their offerings of garden accessories, I have found these lovely items:

I'm always keen on glass bottles, be it colored glass or like these ones in natural acqua tones. "Unfortunatelly" this collection of old antique bottles from  LeapingGazelle's shop ( 23$ ) is not real, as it seemed to me at first glance, but just a fine art poster. Anyway it may be a very attractive wall decoration, perhaps in a terrace!

And finally something practical -  Herb Garden Markers (20$ / 4 in a set) by DesignsByAnnette. Here digital images are decoupaged in spoons decorated with plastic and glass beads. A nice idea for some romantic gardening!

SOME TRIVIA in the MIDWEEK

Good day my dears, today I have to make all my efforts and finish one of my current projects I'm working on; so for now it's just a quick post to share a bit of Spring mood with you /the time my camera's been waiting for so long :)/
These days we have a very pleasant weather - mostly sunny and the air is very warm and humid after occasional light May rains... Everything is so fresh all around and breathing with Spring! We are spending much time outside, in the garden, taking long walks and bicycle riding at nature.
So here's a couple of photos of a pussy-willow that we have many blooming around. I wish you a wonderful day and fruitful week!
Be back soon!
