THE ANTHROPOLOGIE of SHOPPING

I suppose many are already familiar with Anthropology shop or have at least heard the name, but for me it's been a pleasant discovery! They offer lot's of eye-catching stuff like clothes, cosmetics and body care items, jewelry and accessories, beautiful dinnerware and many more.
Though, it's rather late even for last minute Christmas gifts (if ordering on-line) but there'll be many other festive events following soon ahead like the New Year and St. Valentine's day, and all the likings could be just standing in the wings put in the wish lists right at their web site.
They have an interesting collection of books too: on home decoration and how-to series, including what I'm always passionate for - cookbooks !

1
I'm already imagining these beautiful South African bowls filled with steamed rice and spicy meat dishes...!

2
A cute fly agaric ceramic plate in the background by a Parisian artist Nathalie Lete and a suzani journal are already in my wishlist :)

3

There are many Anthropology stores in US and Canada, plus two in London, so you may just check it up here where the nearest to you are located.

CHRISTMAS: DANISH STYLE

And even more fabulous Christmas images for today, this time - Denmark inspired!

This Christmas, Danish decorators welcome us into The Snow Queen fairytale where the main heroes  would be white Royal Copenhagen porcelains and figurines, Christmas balls and paper-cut decorations hanging from the tree twigs, hyacinth bulbs ready to burst into bloom in long vases, all perfectly harmonizing with the roughness of the old wooden table!

MORE CHRISTMAS IDEAS

Going on with unusual Christmas deco finds! I've discovered these at HomeTrendesign and there're even more there in different styles, but I've picked just these three, most  attractive to me, to show here...

hometrendesigncom2 I somehow find this one above looking more autumnal than in a Christmas mood, but still a lovely, joyful table composition: warm wooden surfaces, fat candles and glass vessels filled with gifts of nature in yellow, green and red

1
'Eco-Retro,' was right on the tip of my tongue when I first saw the pic.
I like this warm and fresh look of the room and a simple but tasteful table arrangement. Lovely accents by the violet of Christmas balls and the yellow of napkins too!

And finally, an exquisite, shabby chic styling with a slight oriental touch!
2
Though the dominating colors of the room are cold ones, yellows, reds, and candle Iights add enough cheerfulness to the space. I like also the feeling of lightness here contributed by open-worked chairs and many ornamental details.

Simple Organic Beauty

Recently I got a parcel (my second one by the moment) from Simple Organic Beauty, an Etsy shop offering natural body care products. It's run by a wonderful person, Marla Barton who is always so kind, amiable and obliging to answer all my  accompanying questions and  arranging the soonest and safe delivery possible.
I always try to use natural beauty care products what means no parabens, no laureth/lauril sulphates, no synthetic colorants and artificial preservatives, but even some ingredients of natural origin may still cause allergic reactions to my skin. And I'm really glad that I found Marla's 100% natural, unscented moisturizing facial cream  working really good for me!

But the reason I am writing this post yet to be revealed!
This autumn my hair started coming out terribly and without any reason. It happened when I washed them, brushed them and just during the day! I was in total despair because no remedy used could successfully deal with the problem and I was extremely frightened that the situation might turn catastrophic for my hair. I shared my worries with Marla and she advised me her Must-Love-Lavender Hair Cleanser and Conditioner and it has made Miracles for me and right from the very first time I used it at that!!
Now, YaY(!), my hair is strong again and looks healthy and beautiful for a whole week! Moreover, unlike all other conditioners I ever used this one keeps my natural hair volume perfectly!

S.O.B.

So, I highly recommend you this must-have and really Must-Love Lavender Cleanser/Conditioner {All-in-One} as a  #1 from 'the Salvation Army' of hair care items if any of you experience some similar hair problems or simply want to treat your hair the best and natural way!

TWO CHRISTMAS DECORS

Celebrating Chic n' Cool suggested by decorators from Mezzanine mag!
White, silver and transparent glass details imitating presence of snow and icicles, and Gold to spread a feeling of luxury and prosperity!

I like the idea here that most of decorating objects should be hanging to create an effect of weightlessness!

HAPPY CREATIVE HOLIDAYS!

With Christmas and New Year round the corner, I decided to make an exclusion and let winter in my always-summer Village! But only as long as it concerns sharing some lovely examples of festive table and home decorations. So, no snow (but for the artificial one) and nothing rousing a sense of wintery chill here - only sparkling, innovative arrangements to feel  the magic of the festive season! May be it would suggest you some creative ideas you could implement when decorating your own house by the holidays.

Yesterday, I come across an interesting blog named Decoratrix (it's in Spanish) where I found a few ideas on unusual Christmas decorations inspired by Nature

Unbelievable, but some fine, elegant arrangements with a pinch of humor, like those shown above, may be that simple to create! And just nearly everything your eye could catch may be used to make a festive composition -  silver glitter twigs arranged in  the form of birds nests with attached mushroom figurines and transparent Christmas-tree bubbles scattered around the table.
Or we may suddenly find an unusual application for some ordinary objects, like putting snowball garland into a bird cage, as in the last photo.

I have more nice decorating ideas to share on hand and will be actively posting on the threshold of holidays :) Wish you all joyful festive preparations!

SENSE of OBJECTS

Azerbaijani ablution vessel

This awesome photo is from the latest issue of my favorite Baku magazine which tells about rich culture of Azerbaijan throughout its history and up to the modern days.  This image from the last page of the mag left me speechless for a while,  enchanted by  a gorgeous artefact in its silent splendour. Such things from the past besides being a piece of art in itself, keep the warmth of hands of their masters and  are alive right from the moment of their birth, such things do have soul...

{...This 19th century copper ablution vessel  belongs to a private collection. When making  copper things at those times the artisans used different techniques: smithery, coining, engraving, gilding, niello and incrustation. Visual representations of ornaments and inscriptions on the copper utensils depended on how those were going to be used. Thus, patterns of streams, drops and fishes were drawn on. Complicated, intricate ornaments included human and animal figurines and citations from Al-Quran...}
