Prada S/S 2012 for Men

I like Miuccia Prada for men this year very much! Tomboy-style berets, floral and checkered prints, slim-legged trousers and golf-inspired shoes!
Officially, the collection is meant to bring the feel of the American 50s, the era of Elvis Presley. Yet, to me, it somehow has a very Italian spirit , so, even if I didn't know it is Prada, I would still be sure it should be something Italian!

Zara, I love you for your vision to blend the ages. If I were 20 I would probably swoon off my chair watching these young lads prance down the runway in their assortment of tweeds, stripes, floral, checks, plaids, and little Casey Jones caps with unruly hair locks gasping for a breath of freedom.

Some of the outfits are reminiscent of those worn in the old operatic movies of Nelson Eddy and I was truly adoring that man for many years. In fact I still do, although he couldn't act.... just his singing thrilled me beyond words. And the connection between him and Jeanette MacDonald made every young girl wish it could be her that he was singing to. In fact, my acupuncturist gave me a book of Nelson Eddy and Jeanette MacDonald for Christmas. I thought I owned all the books about them but this one was on the fact that they were twin souls and I didn't have the book. As I look at these mens fashions, I see the face of my beloved, long-years fantasy with Nelson.

I'm calling this, "A breath of Nelson." Love you

And I just love the way you write, dear Manzi! I always learn something new through your valuable comments!
If I am not mistaken, I once saw Jeanette McDonald acting together with Clark Gable in a movie which name I've forgotten. The end of the film had scenes of an earthquake, but the ending was happy.
I've just checked, Google is having large archives dedicated to Jeanette and Nelson. It seems the whole epoch was marked with their names. A beautiful and talented couple!

I am glad this post happened to evoke some beautiful memories of yours, and thanks for sharing them with me!
