LICIA MARTELLI's CERAMICS

Have recently discovered these unique ceramic works handmade in a Milan based studio of Licia Martelli.

But for the cherry-floral, glazy ornamental piece, the teapot would look as if found during excavations of an antique land!

 And the 'twin' kettle - contrasting, pure elegance!

You may see more amazing, and made in a surprisingly different style, tableware by Licia Martelli in my Retro Lounge.

AVOCADO & RED ONION SALAD

While summer, I like experimenting with as much as possible variants of avocado containing salads, and this time, the recipe is from Saveurs magazine. Though avocado+onion combination still sounds weird to me, but, actually, they go together quite harmoniously and we enjoyed the salad very much.

 

Ingredients:

•  2 avocados
• fresh coriander leaves
• 1 middle-sized red onion
• roasted pumpkin seeds
• paprika, salt, olive oil
• lemon (I used lime) juice for sprinkling

Method of cooking:

1. Dry roast pumpkin seeds, sprinkle with salt and paprika.
2. Finely chop coriander leaves.
3. Cut the onion into thin rings or half-rings. 
4. Slice up avocados.
5. Mix together avocados, coriander and onion.
6. Season with olive oil and sprinkle with lemon/lime juice and pumpkin seeds.
